Creative Process: "Wave" Illustration – Scholastic Art Awards Cover
This piece was inspired by the ever-changing energy of the ocean and its force that mirrors the creative spirit of young artists. I began with hand-drawn sketches to capture the fluid motion of a wave, focusing on dynamic lines and layered movement. From there, I digitally refined the illustration, building depth through color, texture, and shape to evoke a sense of momentum and emotion. The result is a bold, flowing composition meant to celebrate artistic growth and expression much like the students honored by the Scholastic Art Awards.
